So! This place was awesome. Lucas (on the right) and I stumbled upon this corner restaurant, where the people working and hanging out there didn't speak any English but were very friendly and happy to talk to us even with limited Chinese (Lucas' Chinese is much better than mine, but not quite fluent). I went here twice (second time alone) and both times was invited to join the staff meal (after first buying a couple dishes for myself), including an endless supply of beer and baijiu (first time having that).
The food was all good also, varied and properly spicy. Hunan province is famous for spicy food (after Sichuan and Chongqing), but this was the only place I ate in Hunan that lived up to that reputation.
