Sharing a van from where the Pingyao->Xi'an bus stopped to a hostel (not my hostel... I walked from there... thinking that it was nearby... unknowing that I was looking at an old map from before the hostel moved!). When selling you a bus ticket, they conveniently leave out the fact that it won't actually get you anywhere near where you want to be... (the train is a bit more convenient in that regard... but the bus is technically faster and I thought it would be nice to travel in daylight and look out the window for a change).

What I was actually trying (and failing) to get a picture of here was the fact that this particular van had all the seats ripped out...
