Breakfast with Xingxing and Sarah (I *think* I remember her Chinese name, but I'm afraid to write it here in case I'm wrong...). Xingxing is a relative of Ping, the tour guide from my previous trip.

I would not have survived Datong without their help. They turned a city I nearly skipped into an unforgettable positive experience. Since I didn't have much information on accomodation in Datong, I had just scheduled two overnight trains to get me in and out. The trains arrived very early in the morning and left very late at night... Xingxing and Sarah made sure I was taken care of that whole time.

I had heard some fairly negative things about Datong from travelers and guidebooks, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there (except that it was possibly the coldest day I experienced all month).
